Oh the joys of Church!

Erik and I got the great privilege to speak in Church today... Such fun!

It was great that we got to have the opportunity to share our testimonies. Erik's talk was out of the January Ensign, a talk by Jeffery R. Holland, "The Best is Yet to Come". It is about not dwelling on the past and to move upward and forward in life. It's good to learn from your past mistakes, but that wanting to go back into your past when life was "better" isn't what we need to focus on. He made a great analogy about the progression through the temple. How we start at ground level when we enter the Lord's House, and as we go to the various area's, we always are moving upward, until we reach our highest potential!

He did AMAZING but of course I'm not bias at all!

My talk was also out of the same Ensign. It was called Making Mountains, the Parables of the Mountain and the Mountain Guide. It is a story about a mountain guide in Taiwan and how when he starts his hikes he asks his visitors what they want to see, the answer is usually that they want to get to the top of the mountain and they want to get there the quickest way possible. They tour guide tries to teach his visitors that what is on top of the mountain was once the base. You can appreciate the beauty of the mountain becomes more majestic after you've seen where it comes from. It is a great knowledge to have that we all need to start at the bottom, and move to the top, growing closer to the Lord is hard to do, there are many trials that we need to have in order to learn and grow.

I recommend all that actually read our blog to check out these two different stories.

We both are grateful to share our testimonies. We are so grateful for the opportunities we have to grow and learn together as Husband and Wife.

Parental Visit!

We had so much fun when my parents were able to visit just after christmas!

While Erik was working, we went hiking out to Red Rock. It was the first time Lola had been there too, and you can see who had her wrapped around his finger!

My cute dad was so great with a little puppy that could put it in 4-wheeled drive and take off on a hike!

My mom wanted to have Lola sit on this rock to get a photo....

Here is the face we got... she's way to much like a real child. She has so many fun personality traits!

We headed into work, and of course had to get a picture with the bear, here is the photo from my camera, he's a pretty fun bear!

We went and took a look around the new City Center, Las Vegas. These are giant ice cubes!

This is just one of the cool water features that City Center has to offer!

My parents in front of Paris! :)

IT'S THE HOLIDAYS!

Erik and I had so much fun over the Holidays! It was all about family! My parents even were able to come down for a few days! YAY!

Our First Christmas Tree

Erik is awesome and surprised me with tickets to the MAACO LAS VEGAS BOWL. BYU vs OREGON! GO COUGARS! It was SO cold and was SOOO windy, but we sure had fun!

Christmas Morning, Lola/Mom opening Lola's Christmas present.

She got a pink puffy vest from her Dad for Christmas! She LOVES it too! If any one ever touches it, she gets so excited and runs to the door, knowing she gets to go somewhere!

Our First Family Photo!

Update!

So I know I've promised an update for awhile, and so here ya go, an update on the Wilkins family.

Over Labor Day weekend, our family grew by one, and no, it wasn't because of a baby... Erik and I got a PUPPY!

Here is Lola the first day we got her. We picked her up and headed straight to Utah to spend the weekend with my parents. She did great and slept almost all of the 6 hour drive! She was so little! She was born June 24, 2009. So just before Erik and I got married.

I love her floppy Ears! They aren't that way now, she sure has grown

She absolutely LOVES snuggling up with her dad! They love taking naps!

Here's Lola on Halloween, she was Wonder Puppy!

Here was Lola and Mom on Halloween. I was Thing Two...

My "Twin" at work was Thing One, because she's older.
